The DT466 outlives the trucks it is bolted into. Keeping one earning in Miami is less about big repairs and more about finding a shop that still knows HEUI injection.
Answering calls day & night across Miami-Dade and Broward. Se habla español.
The DT466 is one of the most durable medium-duty engines ever built, which is exactly the problem: many of the ones still working in South Florida are older than the diagnostic habits of the shops around them. The electronic versions run HEUI injection — the injectors are fired using high-pressure engine oil — so a hard start, a miss or a no-start is very often an oil-side problem: the high-pressure pump, the IPR valve, the ICP sensor or a leak in the high-pressure oil system. Chasing that with a fuel-system mindset gets you nowhere. We know the difference.
ICP, IPR and high-pressure oil leaks diagnosed properly instead of blamed on the fuel system.

Bus yards, depots and box truck fleets, mostly on a schedule rather than an emergency. Breakdown calls still get the usual 45–90 minutes in Miami-Dade and 60–120 minutes in Broward.
We still work them — call and tell us what it is doing.
Power Diesel still works both mechanical and electronic DT466 engines, including HEUI diagnosis, on-site across Miami-Dade and Broward. Call (786) 395-7263.
On an electronic DT466 that is usually the high-pressure oil side — the IPR valve, the ICP sensor, the high-pressure pump or a leak in the system — because the injectors need oil pressure to fire. We measure ICP before touching the fuel system.
Yes, for the common wear and failure items. Availability is a real consideration on some components, so we confirm what a repair needs before starting rather than leaving your truck apart.
Yes. Bus yards and shuttle fleets are a large share of the DT466 work we do, both scheduled maintenance and breakdowns.
Usually yes. The engine typically outlasts the body and chassis around it, so the honest question is the condition of the rest of the truck. We will tell you what we see.
